Lupinus benthamii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan spider lupine. Nama ilmiah Lupinus benthamii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Amos Arthur Heller pada tahun 1905.
