Lupinus confertus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari California hingga Nevada barat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan crowded lupine. Nama ilmiah Lupinus confertus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Albert Kellogg pada tahun 1863.
