Lupinus neglectus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Meksiko timur laut. Nama ilmiah Lupinus neglectus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Nelson Rose pada tahun 1905.
