Lupinus obtusilobus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari California utara hingga WNevada barat laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan bluntlobe lupine. Nama ilmiah Lupinus obtusilobus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Amos Arthur Heller pada tahun 1912.
