Lupinus saxosus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian barat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan rock lupine. Nama ilmiah Lupinus saxosus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Thomas Jefferson Howell pada tahun 1893.
