Lycium ferocissimum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Afrika Selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan african boxthorn. Nama ilmiah Lycium ferocissimum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Miers pada tahun 1854.
