Lycium hassei adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan santa catalina island desert-thorn. Nama ilmiah Lycium hassei pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1888.
