Lycium macrodon adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari California hingga Meksiko (Sonora). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan desert wolfberry. Nama ilmiah Lycium macrodon diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Asa Gray pada tahun 1862.
