Lycium tenue adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya dan selatan. Nama ilmiah Lycium tenue pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1809.
