Lyperia tristis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Scrophulariaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Namibia hingga Provinsi Cape. Nama ilmiah Lyperia tristis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Linnaeus the Younger pada tahun 1836.
