Lysimachia clethroides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Primulaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rusia Timur Jauh selatan hingga Indo-China dan wilayah Asia Timur yang beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan gooseneck yellow loosestrife. Nama ilmiah Lysimachia clethroides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Étienne Duby pada tahun 1844.
