Lythrum portula merupakan tumbuhan semiakuatik dari famili Lythraceae yang tumbuh dalam siklus hidup kurang dari setahun. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Azores, Eropa, Türkiye barat laut, hingga Afrika barat laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan spatulaleaf loosestrife. Nama ilmiah Lythrum portula diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama David Allardice Webb pada tahun 1967.
