Machaerina ascendens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia Barat. Nama ilmiah Machaerina ascendens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Russell Lindsay Barrett pada tahun 2022.
