Machaerina laxa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia Selatan. Nama ilmiah Machaerina laxa diperkenalkan oleh Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1956.
