Machaerina tenax adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Selandia Baru. Nama ilmiah Machaerina tenax diperkenalkan oleh Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1956.
