Maclura pomifera merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Moraceae (suku ara-araan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Oklahoma tenggara hingga Texas dan Arkansas. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan osage orange. Nama ilmiah Maclura pomifera diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Constantine Samuel Rafinesque pada tahun 1906.
