Macrosamanea discolor merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia hingga Venezuela selatan dan Brazil bagian utara. Nama ilmiah Macrosamanea discolor pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alexander von Humboldt pada tahun 1936.
