Madhuca sessilis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapotaceae (suku sawo-sawoan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Singapura, Sumatra (Belitung), Kalimantan. Nama ilmiah Madhuca sessilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George King pada tahun 1965.
