Maesa rubiginosa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Primulaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Maluku. Nama ilmiah Maesa rubiginosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Ludwig Blume pada tahun 1867.
