Magnolia kobus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Magnoliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Korea (Jeju-do), Jepang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan kobus magnolia. Nama ilmiah Magnolia kobus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1817.
