Malacothrix torreyi merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Amerika Serikat bagian barat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan torrey's desertdandelion. Nama ilmiah Malacothrix torreyi pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Asa Gray pada tahun 1874.
