Mallotus subcuneatus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Semenanjung Thailand hingga Semenanjung Malaysia. Nama ilmiah Mallotus subcuneatus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Andrew Thomas Gage pada tahun 1972.
