Malpighia setosa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Malpighiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kuba timur dan timur laut hingga Puerto Rico. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan bristly stingingbush. Nama ilmiah Malpighia setosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Curt Polycarp Joachim Sprengel pada tahun 1822.
