Malus halliana merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China tengah dan selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hall crab apple. Nama ilmiah Malus halliana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Bernhard Adalbert Emil Koehne pada tahun 1890.
