Malvastrum aurantiacum merupakan tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Texas. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan wright's false mallow. Nama ilmiah Malvastrum aurantiacum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Heinrich Adolf Scheele pada tahun 1851.
