Manilkara excelsa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapotaceae (suku sawo-sawoan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil (Amazonas, Pará, Mato Grosso). Nama ilmiah Manilkara excelsa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Adolpho Ducke pada tahun 1933.
