Mapania wallichii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Mapania wallichii diperkenalkan oleh Charles Baron Clarke pada tahun 1894.
