Maprounea guianensis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Amerika. Nama ilmiah Maprounea guianensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Baptiste Christophore Fusée Aublet pada tahun 1775.
