Masdevallia hieroglyphica merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Orchidaceae (suku anggrek-anggrekan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kolombia (Norte de Santander). Nama ilmiah Masdevallia hieroglyphica diperkenalkan oleh Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach pada tahun 1882.
