Matelea violacea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Apocynaceae yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Matelea violacea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Robert Everard Woodson pada tahun 1941.
