Maytenus nitida merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Celastraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil (Pará). Nama ilmiah Maytenus nitida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1841.
