Meconopsis wallichii adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Papaveraceae yang memiliki siklus reproduktif hanya sekali seumur hidupnya (monokarpip). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nepal timur hingga Bhutan barat-tengah. Nama ilmiah Meconopsis wallichii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William Jackson Hooker pada tahun 1852.
