Medicago hybrida adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Prancis selatan-tengah hingga Pyrenees timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hybrid alfalfa. Nama ilmiah Medicago hybrida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Pierre André Pourret pada tahun 1841.
