Medinilla laurifolia merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Melastomataceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Thailand, Sumatra, Jawa, hingga Sulawesi. Nama ilmiah Medinilla laurifolia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig Blume pada tahun 1831.
