Medinilla patens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Melastomataceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Sumatra Barat. Nama ilmiah Medinilla patens diperkenalkan oleh Henry Nicholas Ridley pada tahun 1917.
