Melanophylla crenata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Torricelliaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Madagaskar timur dan tenggara. Nama ilmiah Melanophylla crenata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Gilbert Baker pada tahun 1896.
