Melicope elliptica merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Rutaceae (suku jeruk-jerukan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan leiohi'iaka. Nama ilmiah Melicope elliptica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Asa Gray pada tahun 1854.
