Melinis repens subsp. nigricans adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Tanzania hingga kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan. Nama ilmiah Melinis repens subsp. nigricans diperkenalkan oleh Carl Christian Mez pada tahun 1988.
