Melothria hirsuta merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Cucurbitaceae (suku labu-labuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil. Nama ilmiah Melothria hirsuta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alfred Cogniaux pada tahun 1878.
