Memecylon ovatum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Melastomataceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sri Lanka, Assam hingga kawasan Malesia. Nama ilmiah Memecylon ovatum diperkenalkan oleh James Edward Smith pada tahun 1812.
