Mentzelia affinis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Loasaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya tengah, China (Yunnan selatan dan Guangxi), hingga Indo-China. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan yellowcomet. Nama ilmiah Mentzelia affinis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Edward Lee Greene pada tahun 1890.
