Mesembryanthemum cryptanthum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan sukulen yang tumbuh semusim dari famili Aizoaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Afrika utara, Israel, Jazirah Arab, St. Helena, Angola, hingga Provinsi Cape barat. Nama ilmiah Mesembryanthemum cryptanthum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1868.
