Miconia violacea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Melastomataceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Kolombia (Antioquia). Nama ilmiah Miconia violacea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Alfred Cogniaux pada tahun 1886.
