Microchilus platanilloensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Orchidaceae (suku anggrek-anggrekan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kosta Rika. Nama ilmiah Microchilus platanilloensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Paul Abel Ormerod pada tahun 2004.
