Microlaena stipoides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Jawa hingga Selandia Baru. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan weeping grass. Nama ilmiah Microlaena stipoides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jacques Labillardière pada tahun 1810.
