Microlepia strigosa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Dennstaedtiaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis hingga Pasifik. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan palapalai. Nama ilmiah Microlepia strigosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1851.
