Micropholis crotonoides merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapotaceae (suku sawo-sawoan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kosta Rika, Venezuela, Peru, hingga St. Lucia. Nama ilmiah Micropholis crotonoides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Baptiste Louis Pierre pada tahun 1904.
