Micropsis australis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Argentina timur laut (hingga Rio Negro). Nama ilmiah Micropsis australis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ángel Lulio Cabrera pada tahun 1938.
