Microsorum maximum merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Polypodiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Society. Nama ilmiah Microsorum maximum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama William Dunlop Brackenridge pada tahun 1938.
