Mimosa microcephala subsp. cataractae merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Suriname hingga Brazil bagian utara. Nama ilmiah Mimosa microcephala subsp. cataractae pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Adolpho Ducke pada tahun 1991.
